Oracle DBA
at GOAL in Illinois
Global Operations & Analytics LLc (GOAL) is looking to hire a an Oracle Database Administrator for one of its clients.
Location: Springfield, IL. This is an on-site need.
OBJECTIVES/DELIVERABLES
1. Daily primary database administration support for Oracle databases;
2. Perform database tuning of migrated applications in Oracle 10g;
3. New hardware migration;
4. IDPH Oracle software upgrade from 9i to 10g;
5. EPA Oracle software upgrade from version 7, 8, and 9i to 10g.
6. Implementation of an IDPH and EPA redundant servers to provide 24×7 rollover databases to ensure users routine access in the event of a problem with the main servers and to run user ad hoc queries and reports;
7. Establishing and documenting an application code control system for all Oracle applications;
8. Establishing and documenting Oracle standards;
9. Standardizing Oracle implementation across platforms;
10. Documentation of database administration (DBA) duties/functions specific to Oracle systems.
11. Knowledge transfer, mentoring and training of the client’s staff.
Requirements
Please respond how you meet each of the following requirements in your cover letter.
• Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years recent experience in the administration and use of Oracle Database, Oracle Middleware, and Oracle Applications.
• Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years recent experience administering and supporting an infrastructure with multiple and unique applications of Oracle software and configurations.
• Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years recent experience in the administration and use and support of Oracle versions 7, 8i, 9i and 10g.
• Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years recent experience using and supporting the following operating systems:
o IBM / AIX operating systems
o SUN / Solaris operating system
• Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years recent experience using the following monitoring tools:
a. NMON
b. Topas command
c. TOP
• Candidate must have extensive background and knowledge of Oracle Database Tuning techniques including but not limited to analysis of system memory, system disk usage, operating system performance parameters and hardware configuration.
• Candidate must have recent and extensive experience in the migration of Oracle software from version to version, and platform to platform.
• Candidate must have recent experience training and mentoring staff in the following topics, specifically in a highly customized infrastructure consisting of a variety of unique configurations and systems:
a Oracle software
b AIX and SUN Operating Systems
c Oracle Systems Monitoring
d Technical support for Oracle development staff (resolution of technical issues and optimizing source code)
e Oracle best practices
• Please provide 3 references. The candidate references need to be positive and have successful implementations of similar size and magnitude as outlined above.
